Kristie Yung ft. Alamgir – Keh Dena (Music Video Review)

by Hataf Siyal - on Nov 3rd 2011 - No Comments

THE BACKGROUND:

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Nazia Hassan, Vital Signs, Junoon and Alamgir are such names who resuscitated the music industry of Pakistan with their spellbound, magical, and intoxicating music.

But now a days, since the modernization of music (the new trend of hip-hops and other kinda weird music); we trend to forget what those pioneers had in ‘it’ themselves and what made them earn so much respect in the entire world above everything else. Shockingly, though, Alamgir is the only big name whom we’ve all seem to forgotten.

His passion for bringing in and delivering music to Pakistan was ever-lasting and his enchanting music is something to remember for ages to come. He certainly emerged as one of the top-pioneers of pop-music in Pakistan.

Music and its influence in Pakistan:
We live in a world where the word ‘music’ dominates everything. It is a phenomenon – also an art – which has no boundaries, no languages, no caste, no religions, and no nationality. It helps to connect the minds, hearts, and souls of people. It is a wonderful experience that not only lightens up the mood but also makes us understand the true meaning of love and care with its magical sounds. Music, in other words, is freedom of expression, but in a better way.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Pakistani Musician“Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by rule.”
Samuel Butler

Pakistan, on the other hand, has produced one of the talented musicians and artists all over the world. From Noor Jehan to Ahmed Rushdi to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Abida Parveen to Junoon to Vital Signs to Shafqat Amanat Ali… The list would just go on and on and it shows how much music values to Pakistan and its citizens. by Guest Author - on Apr 12th 2011 - 6 Comments

I was driving alone one evening when I heard a few Pakistani songs from some 90′s era on a radio channel and this is the reason why I am writing this article. 80′s & 90′s was surely the best era for the Pakistani music; experiencing artists like the Vital signs, Junoon, Strings, Awaaz, Hasan Jahangir, Nazia & Zohaib Hassan, Fakhr-e-Alam and many more…It was the blend of the best which will never be forgotten.

This post is NOT gonna be ‘the best collection’ or ‘the top 10 list’ but rather it would help peeping you back into the 90′s era. Whattay  decade it was in terms of Pakistani Music! Lets start with:

*Disco Deewane!!*

Yes I mean Nazia Hassan, surely an icon for our country. Her tracks received great acclamation worldwide especially in our neighbors and they also made it to different night clubs across India and UK. Check out this song picturised on legendary actress Babra Shareef in a Pakistani movie called Sangdil (1982) featuring Nadeem as a lead actor. If you have watched this Pakistani movie or have loved this song in past, this video will surely bring back old memories to you. Enjoy the song and the video:
