THE BACKGROUND:

Swaras is an independent, semi-classical pop-rock band from Toronto, Canada. The name Swaras basically means ‘the seven notes of the scale in literal English translation’. The band was formed in 2009 by Asad Q. who is also the lead vocalist and composer. The entire line-up of the band is:

Asad Q. – lead vocals and compositions
Hassan Bokhari – lead guitars, compositions and arrangement
Faisal Ahsan – bass guitars
Amir Samimi – drummer/percussionist
Serguei Tchepournov – violin

Swaras is one of the best upcoming bands of Pakistan which is also known for their fusion of eastern vocals with western music. The band gave best examples of fusion music in their past tracks and now they are all set to release their next song “Khayal”. Swaras band stands on the fusion of World Music with eastern and is the first to adduce this idea in a different way. The band was formed on 7th June 2009 in Toronto, Canada.

Swaras was founded by Asad Q who is the lead vocalist and was taught by famous Guru M. Munir Ahmad and Dr. Paramjeet Singh. Place of lead guitarist is held by Hassan Bokhari. The Canadian based Pakistani Band ‘Swaras’ is working on its new track with Glen Drover, who is the ex-lead guitarist of American heavy metal band Megadeth.

As per Swaras, ”It is a Raag based progressive rock track which will be a total surprise to our listeners.It will be more musically inclined than vocally but we will be maintaining the eastern classical/mid-eastern feel to the track…Glen is also playing the lead and bass guitars along with Hassan and also producing the track for us as well however all the music arrangement is done by Hassan Bokhari”.

Re-releasing Swaras first single: “Aag Kuch Aysi Lagi” with live drums, heavier guitar solos and new studio remixing/mastering, music remains the same but much crisper and with a better feel.
