Pakistani Morning TV Shows: What Culture do they represent?

Hey there. I am back (not with a bang of-course). Now that I am married and have a kid to look after, I hardly get time to write. A full year of absence and no writing!!! I could actually write so much about all the media happeneings but I just didn’t get time.

OK! OK! OK! no more blabbering about why I didn’t write. Lets all come to the real issue which is pinching me this time and only sharing with you guys can soothe me. Like all simple, sweet, tension-lainay-wali-khushian-dainay-wali and most of all free-free-free house wives, I also switch from one channel to another ONLY to check out clothes. But these days I am  a little (ok! so very much) disappointed in all the morning shows.

The famous Pakistani actress, presenter and morning show host Nadia Khan will soon be seen on Dunya News, hosting a brand new morning show the name of which is not yet revealed.

Nadia Khan, who earned huge respect from her Nadia Khan Show on GEO TV, faced a ban last year on his show, while she brought some personal issues of Filmstar Noor and her husband on the screen. Noor’s husband Vikram then took the matter in court and indeed as per law, Dubai Govt. imposed ban on Nadia Khan show. Now, after over a years period she is planning to make a comeback and claim back her position on the morning show world. This time, however the media group won’t really be same as it(Geo TV) also has a morning TV show host – Shaista Wahidi – who replaced Nadia Khan. (more…)

Since we have not much events to celebrate, we don’t party much and hang out most of the time due to our dynamic job nature, so this is kinda great news for us as we have achieved today 25000 fans on our beloved Facebook Page. And there is no good medium than this blog to celebrate this.

Let me tell you, getting this much targeted audience wasn’t easy at all.  We love the part that these fans found us, ‘Liked’ us and supported us through out. We didn’t market the page at all, didn’t advertise on ad networks to get instant fans and this is why we have all organic and like minded fans. Without their support, Pakium couldn’t achieve this much success. You guys must be saying what the formal things I am writing , but trust me this matters the most for us, at least for me. At times, we were wrong, posted not-so-authentic news , promoted not so good artists but our fans enlightened us, encouraged us and indeed helped us understand what should be done and what shouldn’t be done at all.

25000 fans only , so what ???

Many would be thinking why so much buzz on reaching just 25k fans, there are pages with 300k fans and they are growing at much faster pace, you are kiddies and left behind. So we believe and say respectfully that we only have those 25k who support Pakistan Entertainment Industry and want it to grow and see ruling the world. (more…)

If you don’t know anything about how Pakistan’s most popular morning show Host Nadia Khan disappeared from the screens, her ‘NKS’ program got banned and what happened even after. Then, you are the one, definitely living in the stone age.

For 8000+ fans of Pakium

Another facebook page, a little more popular, became an introduction to this wonderful page I belong to now. Right after I became a fan of Pakium, I left the other page reasons being really personal (anger first, loyalty second :p).

Since then, I have been an active member of Pakium keeping my comment submitting speed to a zillion comments on every third post.I have become a part of them (zombie movies have a lot of ‘them’, if by any chance you have noticed) being able to come up with something that didn’t have the remotest connection with what is called writing. I was still encouraged and got alot of support from Danish Mughal (honorable mention only because he will have to bear with me for long). Over here, I really feel the need to thank all of those who read my article (aka a-three-paragraph-bullcrap). (more…)

I never share these two hours of my daily routine with anybody. Anyway, lets not drag it and come to the real issue.

So on monday, I was watching the repeat telecast of the show. I was on the phone and also working on balance sheets, all at the same time. Suddenly, this announcement caught my attention: “Abhe hum break say pehlay aap ko dikhatay hain kay NKS office mai huwa kya hai” and dhan da dhun! the video was aired. I don’t think I need to go into the details of the contents of it because I am sure 90% of the population must have watched it already, 80% of them would still be discussing it, and the remaining would be dying with curiosity *gossip is such a sleep stealer*.
