Yes! It is official that the Most Famous Drummer of Pakistan John Louis Pinto II a.k.a Gumby wont be seen in the next season of Coke Studio. He is replaced by another Famous Drummer ‘Farhad Humayun’ who is also the founding member & Drummer of Overload.

Right now there is no news if Overload itself is in the next season of Coke Studio but according to our sources there are pretty good musicians in the upcoming season of Coke Studio. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and wait for more exciting news.

Bilal Khan – a featured artist in Coke Studio season 4 – has achieved today over a Million Youtube views, just after two months of his song “Tou Kia Hua” broadcasted via Coke Studio.

Tou kia hua, a track from his upcoming debut album “Umeed”, performed in Coke Studio by Bilal Khan is now already leading in the video stats and ratings. And today as a surprising development has completed over a million views on Youtube, which makes it the most watched music video released by Coke Studio this year.

Earlier, “Arif Lohar ft. Meesha Shafi’s Alif Allah” has received huge round of applause and a milestone of over 5.5 Millions (but that’s fetched in over a year). If video views for “tou kia hua” continue to increase with the current pace, it will easily cross 5 Million video views even before a year.

So, we wish him again for his continued success and hope that he achieves many more in the upcoming months and year. Not to forget, best of luck for the upcoming US tour, we have all our eyes on you, Khan

The fourth musical season of Coke Studio has just ended up…! yes we all thought that, but here is something left which the CS team would reveal only after the month of Ramazan.

It was known that Episode 5 would be the last episode for season 4, and as always, the fans were expecting something really BIG in it. But eventually it ended up with only two performances along with the intros/interviews of the whole artist line-up of the season. Majority of the CS fans showed disappointment over ending up the season this way.

For their surprise, the season is not yet finished. Coke Studio has still something to offer, to which we can call a ‘bonus stuff‘ and that would be revealed only after the holy month of Ramadhan.

Just after releasing the Episode 5 Stuff, CS team (after thanking the fans for their continued support) announced on Facebook Page that they will be posting ‘some tracks’ after Ramzan as well. Now ‘some tracks’ are definitely more than one, and if we have to guess they should (actually MUST) be the ‘new tracks’.

Now what tracks or artistes they can be ? is a question! We have got a clue from Sajjad Ali’s recent interview with Express Tribune:

“One more song is yet to come in the final episode”, said Sajjad Ali who is creating waves in Pakistani music scene with his Coke studio songs: Kirkir and Rang Laga. (But it didnt come in the 5th episode which was supposed to be the final episode of the season.)

When he was inquired about singing his epic hit single ‘bolo-bolo’ in final episode of Coke Studio, he denied the rumors and said:

“It is not ‘Bolo Bolo’ and I can’t disclose anything else because I have a gentleman’s agreement with Coke. However, it will be something fresh and catchy.”

So the things confirmed here are: he has got one more track; and he seems very much confident that it is going to be release after Ramazan. Lets wait a bit more and be curious about tracks that will be releasing and artists who will be ending up the season.

After 40 years of singing countless folk songs, holding the world record for the highest number of audio albums ever released by a singer, and belting out award-winning anthems in five different languages all over Pakistan and the world, Ataullah Khan Essa khelvi still maintains that all of this was never his intention. “I didn’t yearn to become a professional singer,” he says, “I was simply compelled to sing. It was a passion.” This year Esakhelvi brings that passion to Coke Studio.

Sajjad Ali needs no introduction at all. Now, almost two decades and many successful albums later, Sajjad Ali, singer, songwriter and composer, comes to Coke Studio for the first time, with a voice that, in his own words, is “more mature” and a signature style that is appealing in its uniqueness.

Sanam Marvi on the other hand is a young classical female singer of Pakistan. Now, while Marvi performs all over the world, she keeps returning to the shrines to reconnect with her roots. “It was at the dargahs of Sachal Sarmast, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and Shahbaz Qalandar, in the midst of hordes of people and fakirs that I learned how to sing,” remembers Marvi, who sings only Sufic verse, “I still go there and sing for them, and give my hazri, because of course the Lord has given me more than I deserve.”

Komal Rizvi was born in Dubai and raised in England and Nigeria. She came to Pakistan as a teenager and embarked on her career as an entertainer while still in school. During this time, alongside preparing for her A Levels Rizvi acted in a popular drama serial Hawaaein and released her first pop album called Bauji. Later, while enrolled at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Rizvi appeared in a number of television plays. She then jetted off to Bombay to host a show for a popular Indian music channel and simultaneously released her second album titled Parbat.

Now, after a long hiatus, Rizvi returns to the limelight, showcasing her talent at Coke Studio this year. Commenting on her relationship with music the performer states, “My relationship with music has always been a personally rewarding one.” Rizvi recently released a single titled Chahiye and a music video ‘Yehi Pyaar Hai’ and is currently working on her new album set to launch by the end of this year.
