One had thought that gone are the days when a film’s entire musical score could catch the fancy of music lovers. One could cite here the examples of ‘Ashiqui’ and ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ in India and ‘Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa’, ‘Choorriyaan’ and ‘Majaajan’ in Pakistan in the not too distant past. But of late it had been regarded as more than sufficient for a film to become memorable if it boasted just one or two popular songs – mostly item numbers. (more…)

Yasir Nawaz opposes Salman Khan Bajrangi Bhaijan

Some of the big names in Pakistan entertainment industry, Shaan Shahid, Faisal Qureshi and Yasir Nawaz have shown reservations against the release of Indian movies in Pakistan. The recent reaction has come after the trailer of Salman Khan’s upcoming Bollywood movie “Bajrani Bhaijan” went on-air. The movie trailer has shown Salman Khan beating Pakistani police and Pehelwans (Wrestlers). Bajrangi Bhaijaan is due to release on this Eid with at least three Pakistani movies. (more…)

Mobile brand Huawei has launched Huawei P-8 in a glittering event held in Lahore. The launch event was followed by a fashion show by Maria B. and live singing performance by Ali Zafar and Asrar Shah. Celebrities from fashion, singing, film and drama industries attended the event. Ahmed Ali Butt and Ali Gul Pir were the host of the night. (more…)

The press conference of the movie Wrong Number took place yesterday, June 13th in Karachi, which was hosted by Dr. Muzna Ali.

Wrong Number, the new Pakistani movie by YNH and ARY Films, is a comedy tale which revolves around Danish Taimoor, playing the lead role. Other actors in the film include Javed Shaikh, Sohai Ali, Janita Asma, Shafqat Cheema, Nadeem Jaferi and Danish Nawaz in main roles. The movie is written and directed by Yasir Nawaz. (more…)

Pepsi Pakistan had come up with a unique, yet interesting CSR campaign called “#LightingUpLives” in March this year. They installed up-cycled Pepsi plastic bottles, converted to lights that were powered by solar energy in the Jalozai camp for internally displaced peoples (IDPs). If you were a kid or a teenager in late 90s and had a television set at your home or in one of the homes in your area, chances are 100 percent that you remember a superpower character ‘Zakoota’ and his famous dialogue, ‘Mujhy Kaam Batao, Main Kia Karoun, Main Kis Ko Khaoun,’ (Tell me the job, what should I do, whom should I eat) in the most popular children drama serial in the Pakistan history, ‘Ainak Wala Jin.’ The 62 years old Matloob ur Rehman alias Munna Lahori, who played Zakoota in Ainak Wala Jin, is now a jobless-paralysis patient.
