The show began with a bang with a Pantene hair mob choreographed by BodyBeat Productions and with the Pantene brand ambassador Nina Lotia appearing on the ramp for a mock hair-styling of models. Hardly had the audience caught its breath that Zainab Chhotani displayed her elegant collection comprising heavy bridals in beautiful combinations which were an instant hit. Her shopwstoppers were donned by Nida Yahsir, Fahad Mustafa,Urwa Marwa and Shaista Wahidy. Nadia Chottani came in next with her elaborate jewellery collection. Her showstopper was donned by Tamina Chaudhry.

After an exuberant performance by the charming couple, Aamina and Mohib, choreographed by BodyBeat Productions , Saim Ali came on stage with his very bling collection. Noor, Hamza Ali Abbas and Amna Malik donned his showstoppers. Mona Imran closed the first show with a collection that boasted aesthetic combinations which included saris, lehngas and peshwas. Hina Dilpazeer opened her show, Saud and Javeria appeared in her ensembles in the middle and Saira Khan in the end.

The second show opened with striking ensembles by Zaheer Abbas. Humaima Malik donned his showstopper after which Amna Ajmal displayed her colourful line. Her showstoppers were donned by Babrik Shah attired as a groom and Maira as the bride. Aamina and Mohib’s enjoyable performance followed. The show came to a vibrant and impressive end with the rich and heavily worked collection of the highly creative Asifa and Nabeel.

Previously celebrities like Fawad Khan had also launched his clothing line up with a brand name of “Silk”, which was highly applauded by his fans and general public. Now it looks as Hadiqa is following the same trend. The singer has mainly focused on the lawn collection, which undoubtedly is the most selling type of clothes in Pakistan.

The star studded inauguration event of the brand took place a few days ago. Some high profile celebrities who attended the ceremony to admire Hadiqa’s latest endeavors included filmstar Shan, Juggan Kazim, Sana, Noman Ijaz alongwith fashion designers Ali Xeeshan, HSY, Amna Kardar, Mehdi, stylist Shahzad Raza and the charming Sheraz Uppal.

Cybil J. Chowdhry at International Fashion Festival Toronto (2011)

Cybil has been working in fashion industry since last 13 years and has done endorsements for several top clothing designers of Pakistan. She also did comericals for Coke, Pentene and Sunsilk. Apart from this, she has given many photo shoots lawn endorsements. She’s a mixed Pakistani and German citizen however, her work can be seen more prominently in Pakistan. Her work as a teacher reflects another part of her charming personality. Music Pakistan and Gymboree Play are the two institutes that have experienced her as a teacher trainer.

The news about the controversial Ex-actress is like, she has announced the launch of her beauty saloon, to keep herself busy. Nargis revealed the news to media that her saloon will be located in Johar town Lahore. She also added that she has a plan to launch 5 more salons in other areas of Lahore afterwards.

A few days back, Nargis has announced that she is leaving showbiz in order to become a Muslim Aalima, She has said so by taking oath on The holy book Quran Pak, but its still seems impenetrable that whether Nargis need to return to Islam, or she still wants to establish her name in the field of fashion.

The brand made quite an impression over their tenure and recently won the Lux Style Award for ‘Achievement in Fashion Design – Lawn’ category. Winning in the country is a big deal but the only bigger deal is being dominant abroad; which the duo was able to do as the clothing brand won Best International Designer Award for this year.

The prize ceremony was held at the fifth annual Masala Awards in Dubai. It should be recalled that Sana Safinaz has been nominated for the Best Designer of the year category before but it was 2012 that managed to be a lucky year for them. However, neither Sana Hashwani nor Safinaz Munir was able to attend the ceremony so Frieha Altaf accepted the award on the emerging brand’s behalf. The award was presented by Sophie Choudry.

“From rich, traditional heritage hand-work and embroideries, Nazakat Collection includes a stunning variety of woven and crafted saris,” states the talented Indian designer Kersi Dubash in an effort to bring out the very best of his work of fashion and art. If clothes are treasure, then the university town of the city of Peshawar just hit the jack spot as Dubash displayed his set of beautiful saris, shalwar kameez and his country’s expensive jewelry items for the public.

“When I first came to Peshawar, I brought four Lucknowi saris; they were appreciated so much that I decided to exhibit my line of clothing here,” states Dubash. It is interesting ti note that the talented designer is also a travel agent by profession as he gets inspired from various designs he observes from his frequent visits. As far as the Pakistani city of Peshawar is concerned, Dubash mostly contacts them by the use of internet.

“Peshawari women like to wear saris even though such saris are not available in their city,” says Dubash while feeling lucky about the sales of his beautiful and unique saris. “Before, they used to bring saris from Lahore and Karachi.” The exhibition overall was met with utter success and praise; quite an achievement for an outsider. “The material looks durable and the blend of traditional and contemporary styles in vibrant colours is innovative and attractive,” stated Sara Khan, a spectator.

However, he has left his career as a stylist and runs a salon and teaching the staff instead. His niece Zainab, taught by Mubashir himself, also works in his new salon. When questioned about his departure from styling, Mubashir answered, “When I left Karachi two years ago, I know that I wanted to stop. I strongly felt that I didn’t want to be cutting hair forever. I wanted to train people; create a team and put it on the front-line.”

His salon is situated on Khayaban-e-Nishat and takes pride on its cleanliness and facilities. Filled with vanilla fragrance, the salon has Afsheen Teli’s furniture, girls in uniforms and separate compartments. “You have no idea what it takes to maintain this level of perfection,” states Mubashir regarding the level of his up-to-date salon. “A salon has to be luxurious,” he adds while showing soft, crème-coloured micro-fibre towels. “I take responsibility if any client is upset, not my girls.”
