Female Sufi singer Sanam Marvi who came all the way from interior Sindh of Pakistan and got featured in last couple of Coke Studio sessions, is finally going to make her playback singing debut from a Pakistani Movie – and too with an appalling item song. “Sauf  Supari Wala Paan” is something that fans should look out for, Which stars Saima and features Shaan as well. “After a long time, we have an item song.  The way Sanam Marvi has handled it, the song will be a hit with the audiences,” continued Wajahat.

It would be interesting to see Marvi who is basically a ‘Sufi’ singer, singing an ‘Item song’ for a movie that is again said to be a Sufi-Drama film in genre.

Shahood while having an interview with a local news source disclosed that he has experienced a bizarre situation as a result of his negative role in a super hit drama serial on Geo Tv titled as “Bol Meri Machli” during his visit of the Karachi University.

When Shahood was asked about his role in drama “Bol Meri Machli”- few girls of the university tossed eggs and shoes on him, as he was unable to justify his position regarding the character. “I tried to ensure those girls that the role has no link with my real life,” he said. The girls didn’t believe me and hurled eggs and shoes on me, Alvi revealed. He added that the girls also followed him till the parking and also damaged his vehicle.

Definitely a hard lesson to remember, but indeed a sad incident considering the fact that it  stumbled in an educational institute.

Cricket and films are two of the most favorite pastimes of people in the subcontinent. Both these terms are now being merged by Humayun Saeed, as he is producing a movie based on the life of flamboyant Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi. The trend of such sports related movies has been imported from the neighboring country, where movies based on sports have gained much popularity after the success of “Chak De! India.”

The film titled as “Main Hun Shahid Afridi”  implicates the struggles and attainments of a simple boy who made it big in cricket through sheer determination and hard work. 19 year old cricketer Noman Habib will portray the lead role of cricketer Shahid Afridi.

Another reason for keeping fingers crossed for the film is Mahnoor Balcoh, who reportedly is performing an Item song for the movie. It has been revealed that the song on which she will be performing her much awaited item number is “Charhti Jawani”. Besides Mahnoor, the star cast of the film includes Humayun Saeed, Javed Sheikh, Nadeem Baig, Shafqat Cheema, Ismail Tara, Abid Kashmiri, Annie Jaffry, Seemi Raheel, Farhana Maqsood, Shahzad Sheikh and Shahid Afridi himself .

The film is being directed by Syed Ali Raza. The film’s promotional work is about to begin and it will not take long for the viewers to see its trailers on TV channels. The movie is expected to be released in the coming summer.

The film is Film Hijrat portrays human rights issues in Pakistan and is a romantic flick. It is about a love triangle and elaborates many problems in Pakistan. Asad Zaman, the model who won the Reality Show “Hero Bannay Ki Tarang“, will portray the role of  a carefree young man who finds himself thrown into the world of pain and agony – a refugee camp where he sees the flip side of life and where paradoxically he also finds love.

Along with Rabia Butt and Asad Zaman, the cast of film Hijrat also includes Noman Ijaz, Azra Aftab, Ayub Khoso and the Moroccan actress Wiam Dhamani who is also staring in Shehzad Rafique’s film ‘Ishq Khuda’.The film’s music will be composed by Sahir Ali Bagga and will features the vocals of Ali Azmet, Rahat Fateh Ali, Atif Aslam, Richa Sharma and Shreya Ghoshal. Hijrat will be shot in the UK and India besides Pakistan and will be released internationally.

The album has been launched under the prestigious title of American Music Company, which is released in more then 8 countries at a time. The album features twelve songs all of which are recorded in Karachi. Over 200 special children attended the concert which took place at the Karachi Vocational Training Centre for Intellectually Challenged people, a cause the veteran pop singer has supported throughout his career.

An insider from the production team informed the Indian daily that Zafar was denied the visa for unknown reasons, saying “He was supposed to join the team but couldn’t as his India work visa had been turned down.” However, his publicist, Ammara Hikmat, denied the rumours and said Zafar will be heading to India soon.

SOC Film’s first international undertaking, a short documentary titled ‘Humaira: The Dream Catcher’, premiered at the Chime For Change campaign press conference held at the Soho Hotel in London on Tuesday. Chime For Change is a recently launched global campaign founded by Gucci that aims to raise funds and awareness for girls’ and women’s empowerment. The theme of the film states that As a child, Humaira fought against her family and community in order to gain an education and is now making education accessible to other children in Muwach Goth.

While at the premiere of film ‘Humaira’, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy said, “The difference between millions of disenfranchised women across the developing world and me is education. Education transformed my life that is why the Chime for Change campaign is something I strongly believe in. If Humaira were here today, she would second that. The very fact that girls are not even given the option to go to school in so many communities across the world is alarming and those of us who have a voice need to speak up and become their voice.”
