The following videos from OL Rock Music Show are embedded just to let our visitors/readers know how boring a youth music show can be ! Don’t believe me ? Okay, you would only come to know after watching it.
Though, It would be unfair to praise here the effort of refreshing the old Pakistani Hit Songs via this show. Like tracks such as Aajana, Qarar and Laiyaan Laiyaan are definitely recorded with a fresh new feel. but again the reviews are mixed as some are praising the cover songs, while others believe the old melodious tunes are just being ruined and nothing else.
Other than that, as the show OlRock is sponsored by a beverage company, the youth show looks more like a cheap advertisement and doesn’t really engage “youth” in it. If you remember about Dreamers on Aag TV, you might have some idea what I am talking about.

Pakistani Pop/Rock Singer Atif Aslam and acclaimed band Strings, will be featured in MTV India’s show Unplugged, which is being said to be a follow up of Coke Studio @ Mtv.
According to our news sources, MTV India will be soon airing the Indian version of MTV’s famous show Unplugged. The show, which will be recorded next month, will feature two Pakistani acts; Atif Aslam and Strings among other Indian musicians such as Rabbi Shergill, Euphoria, Indian Ocean and Shilpa Rao.
After learning about the current line-up it is worth praising that MTV didn’t pick any of the Coke Studio @ MTV artist just to avoid any duplication of artists. MTV India’s Unplugged is expected to go on air this October.

ISLAMABAD, July 29 (APP): The artistes and playwrights on Friday vowed to stand by the government in ridding the country of extremism, fighting terrorism and making the society tolerent for the prosperous and peaceful country.
The event – ‘Dialogue with the PM’, was the second in the consultation series initiated by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani with the intellectuals, artistes, vice chancellors of universities and media persons, to formulate a national policy to counter the growing trend of intolerance and enhance the level of understanding among the masses. Prime Minister Gilani termed the artistes an asset to the nation and said the government was seeking their views to help devise a policy to project Pakistan’s soft image and fight extremism and terrorism. ISLAMABAD, July 29 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Friday held a consultative session with the country’s television and film artistes, playwrights and singers.It was the second sequel to his initiative ‘PM’s dialogue with Nation’ to seek suggestions on overcoming extremism and intolerance in the society.
Following are the highlights: As many as 30 artistes invited from across the country, participated in the discussion Prominent included: playwrights Anwar Maqsood and Haseena Moeen, filmstar Mustafa Qureshi, TV Director Sahira Kazmi, Classical Singer Surayya Multanikar, Pop-Singer Abrarul Haq, TV artistes Marina Khan, Irfan Khoosat, Firdous Jamal and Laila Zuberi.They arrived at PM Secretariat and were settled at the Cabinet’s Committee Room before the arrival of the PM at 11.30 am.
